The Kickapoos' hostility toward intruders prevented earlier anthropologists from staying among them long enough to study their culture. The authors succeeded where others had failed. Their 12 year study has resulted in the first detailed ethnographic description of the tribe. Inscribed on the half title page and signed by Dolores L. Latorre. 401 pages, notes, glossary, bibliography, index. Dust jacket has 1/2 in. And 1/4 in rub at front fold and 1/4 in closed tear to back spine fold. Dust jacket is clean and whole except for noted defects. Book has previous owner's name plate affixed to top of inside front board. Dust jacket and book are in Near Fine condition.
