Worthington Co. , N. Y. 1880 Hardcover Good with no dust jacket 
This hardcover book of verse and illustration by the author, Mary Artemisia Lathbury, is dated by the vintage inscription on the first free end page. The short Merry Christmas inscription is dated 1890. Mary A. Lathbury American Poet, Art and French teacher, was closely linked with the Chautauqua Movement which sought to bring learning, culture and, later, entertainment to the small towns and villages of America during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each verse is illustrated by a full page illustration by the author. Hinges of book are shaky and some pages are loose but all pages are present. Book has usual bumps at corners. Very scarce. Book is in Good condition to be over 110 years old. ; 9 1/4 in. x 12 1/4 in.
