Book condition: Near Fine (NF), Very Good (VG). Book issued without a jacket. Rev. Norman Macleod, D.D., (1780-1866) a distinguished minister of the Scottish Church, studied at Edinburgh, and was ordained in 1838. He was a trusted friend of Queen Victoria. He was the author of many works, including The Golden Thread (1861) and Reminiscences of a Highland Parish (1867). He was also the editor of the monthly magazine GOOD WORDS between 1860 and 1872. He served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church in 1869 and visited Canada and India to represent the church. Two volumes complete. Volume i; 362 pages with two pages of advertising for other works by Rev. Norman MacLeod. Volume II; 432 pages, appendices. Both volumes are bound in full leather (1/2 forest green and other half and corners natural). Marbled edges and endpapers. Hinges are starting to crack, however, both volumes are still tightly bound. Leather on spines are rubbed and slightly frayed on volume two. Remarkable condition to be 130 plus years old. Both volumes are in Very Good condition. Price:
